Rising Stars Program

Our outstanding classes for children ages 2, 3, 4 and 5. Each class is in their own age division ensuring age appropriate material and skills are taught. This program is designed to help develop coordination and gross motor skills all while dancing, singing and having Fun!!! Child must be the age for each class by September 1st.

2 - 2 1/2 year old Rising Stars

30 minute class, once a week (class size limited to maximum of 8)
We will focus on learning the many ways our bodies can move, follow directions and listening to music. We will sing songs and learn dance steps to go along with them. We will pretend we are bunnies, butterflies, frogs and caterpillars as we work on our gross motor skills. We will do many different activities in the class to keep up with the changing attention of a 2-2 1/2 year old. We promise lots of fun!

3 - 3 1/2 year old Rising Stars

40 minute class, once a week (class size limited to maximum of 10)
This class is loaded with creativity for the growing 3 year old. After our action packed warm-up, we slow down the pace and begin to learn the basics ballet positions and how to listen to music. We use our imagination and become dancing fairies or music box dancers. We sing songs and learn steps to go along with them. We'll learn to take turns and become better listeners as we work on tumbling and balance skills. This class is filled with excitement!

4 - 4 1/2 year old Rising Stars

50 minute class, once a week (class size is limited to maximum of 12)
Wow! At this point, your 4 year old can already do so much- now is the time to further develop and fine-tune their skills. We'll practice skipping, galloping and hopping; we'll learn to work with partners and travel across the floor. We'll identify different types of musical patterns, rhythms and so much more! In this class we continue to learn more about ballet and terminology. We also begin to incorporate tap into our lesson. You'll be amazed at your child's progress from September to June.

5 - 5 1/2 year old Rising Stars

1 hour class, once a week (class size is limited to maximum of 15)
Look at her/him dance! That's what you'll say about our kindergarten class. We are able to put together combinations of dance steps and even create our own dances. We continually develop our sense of balance, timing, and coordination. We'll use movement games to work on the concepts of tempo, level, shape and energy. We'll have a fun filled combination class of tap & ballet.

Mommy & Me

30 minute class, once a week (class size limited to maximum of 8)
This class is designed specifically for our 2 - 2½ year olds who are experiencing separation anxiety but love to dance. The focus is to ease the transition into the rising stars program.

Ballet

Length of class varies
This is the basis of all dance forms. A highly disciplined stage art based on a centuries old tradition of movement and skills.

Jazz

Length of class varies
This form of dance has an exciting, vibrant and dynamic quality. Students learn to use their bodies in new ways, with isolated movements, then combined to form complete dances.

Tap

Length of class varies
This style of dance is a more intricate and sophisticated form of clog dance. It is a descendant of traditional Irish Step Dancing.

Modern

Length of class varies
This form is often referred to as contemporary dance. It emphasizes the artistic expression of the individual performer and choreographer.

Lyrical

Length of class varies
This is a newer trend in dance combining ballet and jazz to tell a story or convey a feeling. These dance pieces are most often set to ballads.

Musical Theatre

A form of dance found on the Broadway stage, in movies or on television. This combines elements of ballet, modern, jazz, tap and even ethnic dance. It is a bright, highly polished form of glamorous entertainment, visually pleasing to a broad audience.

Jazz Funk (AKA Hip-Hop)

1 hour class, once a week
This is a more recently developed form of dance combining the technique behind classical jazz training and current hip hop trends.

Inspire was created in 1997 to fufill the need for dance for individuals with special needs.  It was initially created for wheelchair users and has since grown to meet the needs of those with autism and developmental delays.  We believe that everyone can dance if they have the desire.  Please contact director for details.
